  • Working with Catie was a fun and educational experience! Lessons expanded my repertoire as well as my technical singing skills. During our time together I learned more about my voice and how to safely use it than I had before. I grew confident in my abilities and my audition nerves seemed to slowly fade.

    - Natalie Garcia-Ruiz, Theater Educator

  • Catie is such an encouraging teacher to work with & it’s so clear that she loves doing what she does! She started with the fundamentals of breathing and as we went into our vocal warm ups, she was incredibly intuitive to my voice & needs. Most importantly, she helped me unlock the idea that we must first feel the notes in our body before we can vocalize them!

    - Nina Davaluri, Singer/Actor, Miss America 2014

  • As Professor of Voice at James Madison University, I had the pleasure of working with her one-on-one for all four years of her college career. Catie is an extremely consistent, intelligent and a focused, bright, and enthusiastic student. … Catie is an extremely fast study; she is not only quick to assimilate challenging concepts, I rarely witnessed her struggling with them. Whatever she was doing “behind the scenes” in her study and practice was very efficient as she was always prepared, no matter how challenging the music or classroom work. Catie has a buoyant personality, great sense of humor, and is very collegial. Her professional and personal behavior was appreciated by everyone and set a fine example for other students in the program.

Dr. Carrie Stevens, Professor of Voice

  • Catie is an amazing teacher and coach! She was thoughtful and devoted to my specific vocal needs, and always encouraging in my times of doubt. I look back on my time working with her as one of the most beneficial decisions I could’ve made. She left me feeling prepared, capable, and comfortable in my voice.
